Magical Places
Thurman Quote: “When have you noticed the color in the sky? When have you looked at the shape and place of a tree?... The renewal of mind and body after a night of restful sleep?

Description: What is worthy of your practice of observation and meaning-making? Thurman invites us to be interpreters of our everyday experience and the common objects we take for granted. Interpretation does not start with the otherworldly and unfamiliar. It starts with those moments, those objects, those people and relationships most near to us during the normal unfolding of our days. The trees we past, the people we see every day, the spots where we find rest for our minds, bodies, and spirit--they are not just normal components of our day. They have the capacity to be the magical places of our living. They have the capacity to be the places of wonder and encounter with God’s creative spirit moving in us, but even more importantly, all around us.
Reflect on: Rest as a magical place
