Thurman Quote: “No substitute can be found for it - go where we will, knock at every door, our face remains our face. This is an item of our bill of particulars.”

Citation:  Accept Our Fact, The Inward Journey, 21.

Description: In this meditation “our face” represents a person in their entirety and their particular, beyond their literal face. How might awareness of our habits of interpreting “our faces” lead us to articulating both the general and particular of ourselves with gratitude? Could it help us to move toward a space of gratitude and appreciation for the general and the particular of others--be they our loved ones, friends, associates, colleagues, or strangers we have never met?

Reflect on: The general and particular elements of your face and the faces around you as resources for meaning, understanding, and inclusion.
